My Background... I work at a bank on the desk side the teller line supervisor lets me do whatever I want coin wise. So right now I order 2 boxes of halves from another branch (different Wrappers) and 2 boxes of halves from my branch. I then Ship out the $2,000 from the previous week in shipment bags (no warping or dumping). When going through Halves i usually spend a lot of time pulling out 1974ds keeping all 2002+.

Should I just look for silver because I can go through so many boxes a week?
Is it OK to buy from where you drop? (I live in Northern Virginia, The delivery route hub is in MD i think)
Also what is the best way to do dimes? Just look at the sides and dump?

What are your thoughts I have a budget of about $4,000 that i can spend on this at the moment too.

do you find much? as long as your finding silver do whatever is easiest...

search as much as possible...

$4000 is about my budget too. The best way with Dimes is definitely to just search for Silver and dump. I can whip through a paper Dime box in 20-30 minutes tops. Be sure to check dirty coins and anything else that looks a bit off. For Halves, what I do is I edge check, check anything that seems to be overly shiny, then dump. I used to date check all Halves but I didn't find enough NIFCs to make it worth my time, and I couldn't spot a 74 DDO to save my life. If you're good at finding 74 DDOs it might be worth it to pull them out. For buying where I drop, I would drop those particular coins at a different bank unless you know it's OK to drop at the usual location.

I can tell you from personal expirience that you can still find silver even when you are buying and dumping at the same bank. (I would definately try to make it a different branch at least). But even if its a different branch, within a short amount of time, (maybe two weeks) you will be buying back alot/or at least some of your own dumps.... I know because I did it this way with wells fargo for about two months. The only reason I kept doing it, is because I kept finding silver, averaging just more than 1 silver per box. With all that being said, I am sure that it would be way more effective for you if you were to buy/dump at completely different banks. Good luck though, I often think it would be nice to be a teller at a bank, just because of the opportunities it would create.

What county are you in? I am in Loudon county.

If the branch you work at will let you dump as much as you want, I wouldn't order any from them, but I'd have a $4k order setup 5-6 days a week at other banks! I could only wish for that easy of a dump!

I look only for silver because I do not want my swing money tied up in NIFC's.
I can't see an eventual payoff in my lifetime for them.

I edge search only for dimes, in the way that mleblanc138 described.
They go quick that way. Volume is key.

I would think the further away from the hub you are, the better off you are, as far as dumping at the same bank, that you get coins from. Around here banks roll their own coins and send little back.

I Hunt in the Herndon / Reston Area... Basically Fairfax County I search Garda deliveries What about you?

Which banks use Garda? I am searching Brinks, I think, the brown and white wrappers.

All i know, is i wish i had that kinda budget.......I'd turn this into a job until they (The banks) shut me down for dumping too many times in a day.....lol

Honestly though.....from the way it seems, i would think itd be more effecient to buy a rhydale, go through tons of pennies and then work your budget up, not as much fun, but imagine when u tripple ur budget =)

you will probably give up the 2002+ when you get a whole box of em. I got 2 boxes of mostly 2010 this year.

oh and by the way .....NEVER dump where you eat
