Embossed Beer Bottle.....late 1800's ??

Found this while digging for an addition to a 1860's log cabin.

I found a lot of history about the brewery on line, several name changes in over 100 yrs., but not the "BRC", that this bottle has on it.

Any one know more about it? Thanks.

1901 or later, nice looking bottle. Is it a tooled crown top or do the seams run thru the lip? By the way what's BRC?

I'll have to check on the seams, I left it with the landowner, it says "Property of the M Burkhardt BRC co, Akron Ohio."

Burkhardt Brewery went through several name changes from the 1860's until the 1950 when it was sold, but "BRC" wasn't in any of the names......Bottling & Re Capping? Brewing & capping?

Googled BRC, nothing with bottling I could see.

I did read where they had a short run of 1/2 gal beer bottles that are rare, this one is big, but I'm not sure if it's that big. The similar bottles I saw on line were much smaller.:dontknow:

Seams through lip helps age it? The "09" on the bottom...1909?

Thanks for the reply.

That would have been BRG, short for Brewing, sometimes it's hard to distinguish a G from a C. The numbers on the bottom are 160, which is most likely the mold number. Mold seams thru the lip would mean it was made on a automated bottle machine(ABM), and yes that helps date it. I went by the bottle makers mark on the bottom though, they were in business from 1901-1919... Jim
