Emmet Dalton and buried treasure

The day after the Coffeyville raid Emmet Dalton, shot about 20 times and expected to die, told the 'Saint Louis Globe-Democrat' that in regards to buried treasure, the story was nonsense. 'If there had been a treasure, we would all have been alive today. It was because we were all broke that we planned the Coffeyville raid.' No reference to KGC. Of course later when Emmet went on the lecture trail, he threw out a lot of references to buried caches.
