Empty Crop Fields

Here in central Indiana there are a lot of unplanted crop fields. Evidently a lot of the fields that were slated for beans this year never got planted on account of the exceptionally wet spring season. I've not seen empty fields like this in a long time around here, now there's just acres and acres of scattered weed and dry hard dirt between all the corn fields. However, it did make it a lot easier to spot the four nice bucks in velvet that I saw today! It's just really strange to see this many fields with nothing planted in them this time of year. :icon_scratch:

Doesn't the government pay farmers NOT to plant?

Doesn't the government pay farmers NOT to plant?

Just found out from a local farner that they did get the fields planted, it's just that they got them planted really, really late, and now the hot dry spell. He told me the beans may or may not make it?

I was so hoping those fields were vacant! All I was seeing was acres upon acres of old farm MDing ground. Shame on me....shame, shame, shame! :'(

Too bad they have planted.. I guess the other fields that look vacant may be growing dirt for next year. By the way, if you are lucky to find some land to hunt, bring your Lab, they love digging :icon_thumleft:
