End of Year Surprise!

What can I say

We prepared ourselves for the edge of the Roman Site by guessing how many Roman Coins we would find in the 3 hours of sunlight we had left. I guessed 10, Dad said less.

On the very last run we had 7 Roman Coins, quickly I found a further two. Just over the half way point, I got a good signal, knew it was a Roman as soon as I picked it up (very small). Shouted 'Got the 10th one!', until I looked at it & realised it was Silver. I then said, wait on a minute its Silver, Dad guessed Celtic, I said no Saxon & the celebrations began I then started my swing again & less than a metre away I got another good signal, now my hearts going & I'm thinking another Saxon Sceat But it turned out to be the 10th Roman Coin

Only got my first Saxon Sceat this year & now a 2nd.

2 Tudor Clothes Fasteners (1 lead-alloy type I've never had before)

Whorl of Wolfs Heads
Less than 50 recorded

Utter surprise

Our targets for 2010 are high, but we are not crazy enough to set them higher than some of the totals of this year
