The State of Indiana is considering making recreational prospecting the same as sand/gravel mining, as well as other commercial activities. Chuck Lassiter spells it out on the link from his website at http://www.midwestprospector.com/dnrcitations.html . It appears that there are some uneducated legislatures in IN.
This should be a concern to anyone who enjoys recreational prospecting. It concerns me, so I have sent emails to the businesses I have shopped at while prospecting in Indiana. If enough of the businesses and tourisms offices raise heck with the IN representatives, maybe this situation can be turned to a more friendly outcome.
