Well got out detecting and decided to venture to new part of the yard the dreaded area by the burn pile.

Discrimination set as high is it would go and this rang loud and clear. The way it sat in the hole got my blood a pumping even had good weight as I pulled it out eh just a toy. But still nice and not in too bad of shape. The trigger mechanism is broke and the handle on the right side is cracked a bit. Here is a picture of it cleaned up before I added it to my collection.

I may have to show you all my older weapons finds from auctions I have a love for black powder and for pin fires.

oh and here is a couple pictures of todays last find.

Good hunt. The buffalo and insulator are cool.

Thank you and thank you everyone I really did enjoy digging this one up even got to play a little trick on the boyfriend with it as well came in said ok I am done now better stop before I find the body he asked what I found so I showed it to him in the manner of how I first set eyes on it laid on the good side his eyes got big and round and I could see he was coming after the cap gun his jaw dropped well till I flipped it over and revealed the other side. his jaw slowely closed but he still wanted to get his greedy hands on it. And those buffalo's are really nice its always nice to find a nickel so far I have found 5 of the buffalos. And I dont believe that is an insulator believe it is some kind of lid off a small crock or something I may be wrong. Found that in my tomato garden when I was weeding it has a small nick in it that you tell is recent probably when we tilled up the darn garden. It has wording on it that go as such...

No 7 PAT March 1st 82 April 16th1901.

I do have a nice insulator of the same color on a pole by my garage it is not serving any purpose but I just havent built up the courage to climb all the way up it to retrieve it.

Thats an excellent cap gun buddy!
I've only seen the western style dug.

Keep safe...

Keith
