Nice collection of sporting buttons!!

That's a great selection of buttons for one dig.

I have never seen any of those, and I have been a student of sporting buttons for some time!!!Fantastic buttons!!!Thanks so much for sharing those and would love to see some more of your gold field finds....and two piece buckles?

Nice variety of buttons! I like the designs on them! :icon_thumright:

Those are very cool 19th Century European sporting buttons! :icon_thumright:

Looks like you found the entire coat. From what I understand, each button on these coats depicted a different game animal. A friend also found a several in one spot, digging an 1850's site, and all were different animals as well. Your buttons may have a backmark, that could be a clue to origin. I've seen sporting buttons from companies in England, France, and Germany as I recall.

Great grouping of sporting buttons. Thanks for sharing and welcome to T-Net!

Very cool buttons, thanks for sharing!

I had heard the story that these were given out for game killed...but I failed to realize that they would've been worn mismatched on a coat. That is a STELLAR find!

Best Wishes,

Buck

Thank you all for your replies. I will post a few more things that I have found and hope that you find them as interesting as I find yours.
