Hi everyone,

Took advantage of the nice weather today and went out with the wife today to do some digging. I had plans to meet my brother also but with the clocks changing we didnt get up till 8:30.

Plan was to meet up at an old park but the drive is like an hour for me. Called my brother and said we'll have to try and hook up next week gonna stay closer to home.

I knew of an old park thats produced in the past. Said to the wife you wanna go there. She replied whatever you wanna do.

We arrive 9 am and i decided to fig for the wife for the first 1.5 hrs. Once she recovered a few keepers id get my machine and hunt.

He first recovery was a nice 1887 indian. I said okay your on the board.

Within minutes of turning my machine on i had a cool old token followed by an occasional wheat here and there over the next few hours.

Took a lunch break at the truck and said lets go check out this other area of the park.

We get there and within minutes i spot a wheat surface find up against a tree then pick up a clay marble next to it.

The rest is history over the next three hours i pulled 7 silvers out a indian and a bunch of wheats.

Most of the silvers barely read. They were at the end of the ctx's range but just enough for me to hear them. 10 11 inches deep.

Hope you enjoy the pics.

Jer

Darn .. You were busy! That's a bunch of targets! Nice batch of goodies!

Congrats on finding a hot spot! What is the smashed piece of silver at the bottom of the second pic? Well done!

Thanks guys

I am not sure looks like cut old silver coin. Its been clipped clean on one side.

Oh, man, that is AWESOME! You either found a spot no one hit before or just had the better machine and ear! By the depth you mentioned, I'd say it was hunted before... and you had the superior equipment and ability. Congrats on an awesome afternoon.

I DO wonder what is going on with that flattened silver piece. Maybe it is the product of the first step of some sort of jewelry-making process gone wrong. Maybe it got too thin or out of shape for the medal or badge someone was trying to make?
I have a half-finished French 1868 coin ring that I found in an old park. It looks very much like an amateur work. I can imagine the guy sitting there 130 years ago, back against a tree, tap-tap-tapping away with a spoon, getting more and more disgusted with each whack. "The edge is getting too thin... how am I gonna file all that out after my wonky coping saw cuts?!?... aw, screw it." And he tosses it!

Very nice finds!

Thanks for the replies.

No this place gets pounded all the time. Every signal was really tough to work out of the ground except for a few.

I put a program on the CTX a few weeks ago set up how I like my e trac and it's proven to be a pretty good program. I am figuring out now how the CTX reacts to really deep coins.

Takes practice like anything. Wife gets frustrated hunting with me. Doesn't understand how I pull silvers out of the ground with her hunting 10 yards away. I've trained her to an extent and she does well. But I try telling her it takes years of hunting to really know what to listen for. Sometimes I find silver and don't even expect it before I dig it.

I'll be back to this area soon. Lot of ground left to cover.

That's the way you jack up your silver total FTY

Is that purple thing with the star burst a marble, a bead, or a ring setting?

That's a great day. Nothing more fun than to hear 'em deep and pop 'em out. Now that's fun. Congrats on the good ear and getting the max out of your machine. :occasion14:

That’s a lot of silver for one hunt :occasion14: Congrats on the great hunt.

Wow, good show! That’s a great handful of silver you got there. Were you using the 12 inch coil?

I bet your Brother was wishing he would have went. Thats what I call a great day I have a hard time finding one silver most days. Well done Tommy

Way to tweak that CTX! Nice work! πŸ™Œ

Congrats on the hand full of silver! :occasion14:
