.....do I contact LP Metal Detecting, where I bought it from in the UK? or Do i contact Minelab direct for a replacement?

If you are close to the store and have a good relationship with your detector store call or visit them.
Otherwise call or email minelab. They have great support. Make sure your machine and coil are registered for the warranty on the minelab website.

You may want to bring it up to the dealer first. Maybe they have a replacement already. Or they may recommend just contacting Minelab. Good luck!
