They even look better when you see them , they look even sharper and classy looking.

And thank you dirtlooter and Donut, for your very kind words also! :)

My detectors generally get so dusty or muddy that looks doesn't matter much, but I love my shaft for other reasons. And yeah, now that I've cleaned it for winter, it looks purdy, too.

Well, I'm ready to get the shaft from Steve...lol. At least in a good way. I just emailed him and let the process begin. HH&GL y'all

I got Steve’s counterbalanced rod system some time ago... It makes a world of difference.

Highly recommend getting one!

MetalArchSC -- THANK YOU for the endorsement! :)

Gene -- THANKS for contacting me; I look forward to building your shaft!

After you get it and use the counter balanced shaft for a little while try taking the weight off the back and you'll notice the nose heavy feel instantly.

I noticed the same thing.

Thanks for those comments, guys. That's a great way to "confirm to yourself" that the counterweights actually do what they are intended to...

Got a new business slogan for you, Steve: "We Will Sell You The Shaft But We Would Never Give You The Shaft".

I had to tie a brick to my counterbalanced 800 down for the winter. I was getting tired of seeing it resting on the ceiling.

Iron Buzz -- LOL!!! You are on a roll tonight, LOL! ;)

Yay!!! I got the shaft from Steve. Lol let me first say that dealing with Steve was just a most pleasant experience. Most friendly and knowledgeable to "fit" a shaft that works best for me. Very Fast shipping. Put it together and hit the yard. Started with no weight and it's hard to imagine how different it was compared to the stock one. Not much lighter yet felt so good. I did move the cuff back one hole and that helps too. After a bit I put the weight on with no shot in it and then various weights. I could feel the difference in weight and started having ctx
Flashbacks...lol. I settled on having the weight on with no shots for now and keep experimenting. It will be a fun process. Let me finish with again saying how great to deal with someone so nice. And super thanks for being so kind to us Veterans. Hoorahh!!!

Gene -- WOW! Thank you for the terrific compliments, and I'm SO glad you like the shaft! Experiment with the counterweighting, and you will find just the right amount for you -- and you are doing exactly that! SUPER!

Thank you!

Steve

I have watched the videos and read the posts here... I am new to the Nox 800 - CTX user here. Can anyone please tell me the best shaft to order from Steve’s - which model? I have lower back issues and need something to help.

I was swinging my CTX and the 17” with the Minelab back brace and still cannot get over the weight difference between the two.

Thank you.

Send him a message and he’ll work with you.
i do recommend the counter balance to counter balance the coil.
having the counterbalance helps me increase my detecting time a lot.
other brands do not have the counter balance.
