Etrac found coins/ring in "yard of nails"
First day out with the new Etrac, replacing my aging Tesoro Golden Sabre. Set up TTF due to the high density of nails of all kinds, including many "cut" style square nails. House is 1900 vintage and in previous hunts, have already pulled several wheats, war nickles and clad out, but the old Tesoro was stumped by all the trash.
Even in light rain it was fun to hear the high tones sneak through the nulls and low tones. Pulled 2 more wheats, one old Jefferson Nick and a copper/plated Hopalong Cassidy kids ring. Every recovery hole had multiple nails in it. Also dug plenty of those cut nails with the danged "halo" effect, but easy to find in the hole/plug with the Uniprobe/ headphone setup. Thanks to Mike at Woodland for the advice and great equipment! And thank to those forum members with more experience on the Etrac for sharing their mode settings to help me make the transition to the new machine. Can't wait to get back to my other "hunted-out" sites!
