Well, I did it.....I jumped to the dark side....LOL!! My Etrac arrived Thursday afternoon, my first hunt was 2 hours on Friday evening and it produced 21 coins...not bad... My second hunt was about 3 hours this morning with Jeff of PA and produced only 8 memorials and a 1921 wheat penny. I had the itch to keep learning the new machine so I went to a local ball field this evening for another 2½ hours....and there she was....my first ETRAC silver!! I had all but given up on this field last year already...the last 10 trips here produced zero old coins for me, but not tonight!!

The take included 4 wheats, 1921,1922,1924 and 1929. Two memorials, 1963 and 1964. One Jefferson, a 1963 and one Mercury dime a well worn 1919 plain.

Jeff...nope the nickel wasn't alone. It was in the hole with the '63 memorial....the tone was very strange, of course at this point most of the Etrac tones are weird to me. It was a mixed tone that jumped around but the CO number stayed at like 38 and above and the tone stayed high so I dug.

Whats the thing on the right. I have found 2 of them at different school site this year. Different sizes. One has a G# on it and the other has B.

7 I have been told that they are pipe (or pump) organ reeds. Jeff of PA knows the proper term for them, I ask him to be sure.
