thank you Ian...
forgot another one....
where my home of residence is a large area with farms dating back to the middle 1800's
found all kinds of metal, few relics, few coins...etc etc ...best find is a couple of gold coins
and some civil war stuff..anyway...
a few years ago the local sheriffs dept asked me to bring my detector out and find a couple
of items from a crime...1 hr later I had found 7 items...some been buried a while, while the one they were looking for was found within 15 minutes....
I asked the sheriff ( whom I have known for 25 yrs ) If I could keep anything but the item they were looking for ( gun ) he said sure....
When I pulled up 4 ( guns ) and 2 ( knives ) and one auto hubcap...deputies came running..
I said you said I could keep them.... I didnt get to ....2 other crimes were solved with this discovery...I really wanted to keep one of those guns...oh well....
a week later one of the deputies asked me to find a knife he had lost as a kid..found it in
1 hr...after digging up enough trash...his wife asked me to find something in the flower bed
and on and on and on...needless to say I spent 4 days there...found all kinds of interesting
items...
as for a comedian...I have been a cop, farmer, prison guard and now an engineer on a govt
owned vessel...so you have to keep your humor up...
as for my funny story to me...my father rest his soul...took me and my sisters to florida one
year ...1978..I took my trusty radio shack detector with me...found hundreds of beer cans..
laugh...and 2 spanish coins...one around my neck now...
the ten baht chain was found in the USA on a beach in Hawaii...ever tried to tell a lady in a thong that no you cannot buy the chain...?? hard to do ...
ok one more and I have to get to work...
3 yrs ago I was detecting near an old house site that I had secured permission to hunt.It was during the spring during fishing season...I caught several fish that morning and then
went to metal detecting..but my sense of humor set in....I was close to a major road and decided to have a little fun. I tied a large fish I had caught on my line and every time a car
would drive by I would haul in the fish...had several stop and look...
Next day I went back to the same area...and there were around 85 people fishing...
I did find around 18.00 in clad when all the fisherman left later that afternoon after not
catching anything......
keep smiling...makes folks wonder what you are thinking
