geocaching.webpAccidently found one today. People hide stuff and post GPS cords. You find it, sign the log in it and put it back. You can leave or take stuff, I left a dollar. LOL

I've heard of it but never did it. I have found 3 myself over the years.

I have done it before. I like to hunt them in the winter when there is a couple feet of snow. I snowshoe in and use my detector to locate them. I have to know that the cache is a metal container like an ammo can before you look for it. Most of the caches in the woods are ammo cans. Your detector can locate an ammo can at a few feet. When I log those I usually write a long log about my adventure. Most people are amazed that someone would hunt their caches in the winter and I get some good comments about it.

Done quite a bit of it myself over the years as well.....always had a great time. Loved it when I lived in Germany as there were a bunch within a 20 mile radius of where I lived. I'd hope on the mountain bike and go find them on a sat or sun. Good times. My wife and son enjoyed it was well as we could make it a family outing and take the dogs for a little hike!

Very common here, but I don't have time for another hobby.

Kinda similar to letterboxing, but you don't take or leave things.

Enjoyed it a few times in busy urban area here in CA with daughter & grandkids who'd already been geocaching where they live in VA. We took the little trinkets and put something of ours back in the container. Fun, especially as the items were hidden where there was tons of foot traffic. Would be equally fun when hiking or biking for sure! Andi

But now a days I could imagine some peoples reaction if they saw you hiding something up under something somewhere.

Yes, started with kids 2-3 years ago! Even though we haven't been lately, there's great fun to be had Geocaching!

I have hear about it but never found any myself. I did read a story about someone who found one containg a small fortune in gold thoug. Not sure if its true or not but if it is then I can see how tis could be another addicting hobby.

I have found several of these while detecting. I just put them back. :skullflag:
