Anyone know what this was used for or how old it may be. I found it on an abandoned mental hospital grounds that started in 1907 but was farmland before that. 20150216_094647.webp20150216_092912.webp20150216_092902.webp I thought it was a coin at first, it appears to be made of copper and has the number 272 on it. Looks old, just curious.....

I've always called them tool tags. They were used for loaning tools, but were also used for many other things that need an ID. Tony

Yea, I have seen them called that too...But it could be a a few different things.

I have found some that were Key tags for Rooms and Lockers...being it was found at a mental hospital, it could be something even "Crazier!!!"..lol

My first thought was a locker tag, I found this around the same area. Maybe it held the key to this, who knows. It's a yale and towne lock Pat date 1877 on the bottom. I know that doesn't mean the age but it looks pretty old. Thanks for the feedback..
