It just dawned on me why Mayberry was so peaceful and quite.

......no body was married.

Here are the single people that come to mind, Andy, Aunt Bea, Barney, Floyd, Howard, Goober, Gomer, Sam, Ernest T Bass, the Darlin Family, Helen, Thelma Lou, and Clara......

in fact the only one that was married was Otis and he was drunk most of the time.

I go through "Mayberry" several times a week (actually Mt. Airy).

I don't think anyone's married there now either. They took that Mayberry thing to the danged extremes. Talk about eating up the notoriety!
