Before I begin, I know some will not believe the following account, but it's true.

OK, As we were leaving the area, I found what I believe is the calling card of the Devil Detectorist....
A red and black Devil Mask and a red wristband with the devil's own mark on it. Yea, I know, scary huh?
They were left for us to find them and to warn us and others that this land was claimed by him and to stay away. I don't think we'll go there again, shivverrrr.......

A friend also upon hearing the tale of the tiny shallow holes, sent me this only known picture of one of the Evil Squirrels of Death. They are deadly as the person whose hand you see in the pic was killed soon after it was taken. Avoid these at all cost. Rarely seen, they ravage munchkin lands at night with special night vision equipment. Leaving only scraps of aluminum and foil wrappers from their chewing gum....

I did manage a meager 30 coin, $1.90, one psychedelic key, bits of munchkin jewelry, one silver ballerina shoe bracelet charm and trash....

Thanks fer the warning Rudy, although no Evil Squirrels of Death have been sighted in this area in recent years, we will keep our eyes open & dilligently thwart their attempts to spread terror! Nice post

Yeah, we were lucky we made it out alive. Both of us had forgotten our Killer Squirrel Repellent.

Cute Rudy. I hunted at a tot lot last week and thought that a detectorist had beat me to the spot. I kept filling the holes as I went along...so, I wondered, how come I'm finding coins 1 to 3 inches down? Did the culpret only take surface hits? Then I saw him...a grey squirrel, he boldly walked past me and calmly dug a hole. Mystery solved...sorry unknown metal detectorist for jumping to conclusions!
