Excal II charging

Now that I am becoming an experienced Excal II user.. LOL, far from it. I do have one question for my Brother users.
If I fully charge my Excal. battery pack, and only use it for an hour or so, should I recharge it a bit or let it run down? Also, since this is not a trickle charger, can this batt. pack be ruined by over charging? This issue has always boggled me... I hear it doesn't hurt to charge this pack whenever but, I would really like to hear your suggestions and how you do it. Thanks, JOe

13.26 volts after a charge and sitting for a few days...

After a few hours its back to 13.5 which was where it was after last charge.

I conclude that the top voltage at least for this particular battery is 13.5v.

After that you are just wasting electric and heating up your battery. I would also conclude that it will go as high as 14v but you are probably overcharging it after you hit 13.5v and the battery won't hold more than 13.5v

If I remember it got to 13v after about 4 hours but took longer to get 13.5 , how long I don't know as I just left it overnight, but I am sure that overnight is longer than necessary.

One person once posted a good idea on the forum.He used one of those timers that you can
set to turn off after so many hours.I've only forgotten once,but wouldn't like to let it charge
too long.May have to remember to get one next time I see it. But for the rest of it,I follow
the manual's recommendations.HH Joe
