My wading Excal is acting up with a changing threshold after charging it. I thought it was due to the charging, so I changed NIMH batteries and even added the recharge battery pak from another detector, still going crazy. Called Minelab and they told me to send it back. While getting it ready for shippment, I took off the coil cover only to discover a hole in the plastic of the bottom of the coil. Looks like a bubble broke and it was about 1/8" hole.

At least I have other water detectors and a spare Excal that I use for diving.
