Excalibur ii for gold nuggets?

Has anyone had experience using the Excalibur ii for nugget hunting in fresh water rivers and how well does it work for this?

If the nuggets are huge go for it, other wise do as Terry recommends and get a good gold detector.

I love my excals but i would never use them to intentionally try to hunt tiny gold flakes, grains or nuggets smaller than several grams..... Same reason excals rarely fine tiny gold chains....

Those are ones I have owned in past. I'm down to 2 custom excals, a Sov gt, an etrac, and a Fisher 1235x....

Can you tune the Excal for nuggetshooting? No.
