Excalibur ii for gold nuggets?

Multi-freq machines suck at gold nugget hunting. You need a single frequency (17kHz-19kHz) machine or a PI machine.

So what machine would you recommend? Is there a way to tune the Excalibur to work for nuggets?

Garrett A T gold metal detector! Moderate price too. 10 ft depth under water.

If the nuggets are huge go for it, other wise do as Terry recommends and get a good gold detector.

I love my excals but i would never use them to intentionally try to hunt tiny gold flakes, grains or nuggets smaller than several grams..... Same reason excals rarely fine tiny gold chains....

Good luck..

That is quite a stable of detectors.

Those are ones I have owned in past. I'm down to 2 custom excals, a Sov gt, an etrac, and a Fisher 1235x....

Can you tune the Excal for nuggetshooting? No.

I recommend: Whites GMT; Tesoro Lobo Super Traq; Fisher Goldbug; Minelab 705 Goldpack; Minelab Eureka; Minelab GPX series; Garrett ATX
