after months of reading and talking to others I finally got my excall ll , one of the concerns I had was complaints of the headphones. I figurged how bad could they be...... They are horrible can't wait till the warrenty runs out so I can make some modifications . Till the any suggestions would be appreciated . They will not make a good seal a lot of out side noise comes in . My olg garrett blue u/w headphone were great ! Thanks in advance

I did the same thing on my first set....they come in different ways, some come on a mounting plate, flaps, snaps..But I found Aquaseal holds them all...I just use the regular you get at a dive shop....coat both surfaces, let both dry for about 30 minutes then stick it on...let set for 24 hours...they will never leave that spot. Sometimes I also set a book on them while they are setting up, to get full contact between both surfaces.

Perfect. Thanks again!

Thanks to all for your input , was on the road for 8 days , just got back gel covers look great just hope glueing them on does not affect warrenty minelab seams funny that way. Off to the Keys Wendsday for work then Branson Missouri , busy time of the year for me on the tour bus. Leave some spring break treasure for me 8-)
Thanks again Burl

You may want to try another glue, if you put them on with aquaseal, you have to cut them off....may want to try a RTV silicon, much easier to remove.

used a rubber contact cement have used it before comes off a hard surface with a large pencil eraser

I just got a set of gel ear seals for my Excal. Glad I found this thread! I struggled trying to figure out how to stretch these puppies over my stock koss earphones! Now I realize you seal them to the plastic, which makes much more sense! I will have to grab some sealant and try to make this work.

I know this is an old post but I want to know if you can still hear someone yell SHARK?

Barely. If you dont have any drain hole you cant hear much outside noise

I'm in the process of designing some headphones just for the excalibur. Underwater speakered headphones, they use the same speakers as the Killer Bee's, Sunray Pro Golds, and Blackwidows, the audiosears 2663 150 ohm. And they are 100% waterproof. All is still in the works but these will come easy to install endcap to headphones, and if you have to send your machine back in, just reinstall the old koss yellows. Minelabs will not work on any machine unless they are original...... also these come with the gelseals as a Op....All underwater aftermarket headphones come Piezo bendders, they work good but don't have the rich audio of land speakered handphones.......these do...Skullies

Hi my friend,

Are those Headphones really waterproof? Like >10/50FT down?

My underwater bone phones, (the one you've tried) are great for CTX 3030 but not as good for Excalibur... for an pure underwater use which headphone will you suggest?

Thank brother ;-)

Say what? You and Joe collaborating? I know he was talking water proof speakers with someone. Joe....... if you are in on this id pay for a pair to test buddy.

I bought some headphone in the US and ask Joe to try them and check how they were performing on various plateforms such as CTX3030 & Excalibur...

Thanks god we can have a "private life" with Joe LoL :laughing9:....
