Extremely new to this (Western Mass)

Just started myself too in the Merrimack Valley. Plan on hitting the beaches after this storm hits. I read somewhere in western MA you can't go around the Quabbin. Its prohibited. So watch out there. Will check the Library, good tip! Anyone know the regulations in MA or NH ?

Hello there, I live in Easthampton and I have been detecting for 20 years,10 of it in this area, I know a few places in Leeds and along RTE 9 heading North.
I too am looking for someone to go detecting with, pretty soon the ground will be frozen solid! So, we have to make everyday a good day.

I live in Chicopee and I haven't purchased a metal detector yet but I've been wanting to get into this for many years. I'm saving up to purchase one but need to figure out which one is Affordable but yet can't identify the metals and then see if there's any groups or clubs that go out together? Any advice you guys can offer would be appreciated. And then once I purchase want I'll get in contact with people so we can head out and try our luck.

Would definitely start checking out YouTube. A lot of informative videos to chose from. I personally would recommend a minelab detector. A bit pricey but definitely worth it.
