What do you do with the detector when you dig. Do you set it on the ground

Doc's Swingy Thingy is also an economical bungee... Good product for the price.

I absolutely recommend the original detecting buddy its cheap $25 can use on any machine, swing any machine all day 1 finger adjust it right it hangs perfectly 1" off the ground (coil) when u dig ur plug u have plenty of room its not in ur way. I've used it with all the sef coils & a sunray on my v3i I had & the Atpro with both coils feels like ur just walking around with nothing honestly, YouTube has a vid of it & u can buy off Ebay its where I got mine pretty quick to ship. Others on here use em to say the same as me

Mine swings out of the way or you can take it off. Mine is a Detector Buddy bought from Colonial Detector. It does a good job. I use mine on the M6. Don't need it with the fisher or ATP.

Recently purchased a large coil. Found the coil very stable and not hitting on the small annoying trash. But the coil is heavy. Anyone have any ideas how to keep my arms from getting tired.

I got the same coil and I bought the Detector Buddy sling. Works great

Try shortening the shaft as well. The detector is like a giant seesaw, and the farther away the coil is from the grip the heavier it feels.

Ty for the great tips. Right arm was getting bigger than my left.

You could always go for the old fashioned method and pump some iron. But the harness would probably be the most reasonable idea. I'd rather be out detecting than exercising.

Ur arms will get bigger each & every day ur out there swinging the detector, when ur arm feels like its gonna fall off that's a work out hh

I recently was asked to hunt a cache of vatican coins buried about thirty years ago. The spot has had a large fire, lots of modern junk, and been dozed. Also the roots of a willow tree have taken over the spot that is believed to hold the coins. Care was not taken to protect the coins so I fear I will find clumps and not coins. Anyone have any advice on to search for a shallow cache in such conditions. Coins are believed to be silver. About 40 coins in all in a open box. Im gridding and removing trash now. But so far just finding coin protectors.
