F75DST And Deus Concur That It's For Certain A Silver Half Dollar

I met up with Taylor (CZconnoisseur) this morning at a 1956 house to do some detecting together. After finding around 20 Memorial pennies and not a single wheat penny, I was wanting to move to a new site.

Finally I got a good sounding audio response and a VDI number of 89 that locked on like a pit bull dog. I called Taylor over to see what his Deus had to say about it. We both agreed it was a silver half. Even though it was a strong loud audio response, the audio was mellow with roundness on the edges.

Being very careful I cut a wide plug and popped a 1953 Ben Franklin Half Dollar that was about 4 inches deep. This is my 8th silver half for the year and my second Franklin. Talk about lucky!

Oh yeah I also found a Ike dollar coin. I put it in my vehicle since it wouldn't fit in my water bottle and I almost forgot about it. Taylor and I compared our detector readings on it as well. We thought it might be a silver dollar since it had a VDI 91 reading, but we agreed that it didn't have the smoothness on the edges on the audio response that silver coins produce. Damn we're good! I popped a 1971 Ike dollar at 4 inches deep.

This was my 68th hunt for the year and my silver coin total for the year now stands at 195. I only need five more by the end of June. It's doable!

My F75DST detector settings: 9.0, Sensitivity 68-70 (heavy EMI), DE Mode, 4H Tones, Disc Level 0, GB 72.

Very nice Tabman. In that first picture I think Benny is saying "here's to mud in your eye".

Thanks! Popping fresh silver out of the ground always puts a smile on my face.

Congrats on some nice finds
Thanks! I got lucky on that one. Taylor would have found it if he had covered that part of the yard before I did. Luck of the draw.

Thanks! I really like reading about hunts and looking at pictures of other posters finds, because it keeps me motivated.

Thanks! When I find a silver coin it makes me wonder how many hands it has touched and how it got lost.

WHOA... How did you get your Ike dollar to look like that? Clad Ike's in the field come out looking like crap for me. Haven't figured out how to clean mine up. Care to share?
I use a microfiber cloth with a some BarKeeper's Friend and a lot of elbow grease.

Most homeowners will say yes if you ask them if you can detect their yard. A few will say no, but they won't shoot you for asking.
