A deep target in a church parking lot in the oldest part of town in Central Florida near the railway tracks--out comes into my hand a heavy brass Rail Way padlock.

Could immediately see RITCHIE @ SON NEWARK NJ PATENT which began in 1851.

On the reverse side the letters F C A P r r with an 8 below.

I have found a Florida Central and Peninsular Rail Way company padlock.

Company ran from 1837 -1900.

Will enjoy this one for awhile and do some restoration with the iron however this one belongs in the town museum.

Pictures sent of lock and from a Disney movie showing civil war scene and you can see the lock in question hanging down on the left.

Sounds like you've already done the research.....so all that's left is to enjoy it before you donate it. Sweet find and that's a nice piece of history coming out in the light again for others to enjoy.
