FALSE SIGNAL'S ~~~~~~ VAQUERO?????

I am getting false signals out of my vaq. at the end of my swing, on the right side of my arch!!

cant figure it out ,, :dontknow:,, I run my unit supertuned, and sens. at 8-9,,disc. at right below tabs,,

I have made sure that my coil wire is secure on the shaft with tape,, just dont know what the deal is ,,

does not happen every swing but about 85-90% of the time ,,,any help would be cool,,

I quess I could send it in for a check up,,,, just bought a couple of months ago.

thanks

Are you carrying anything metal on that side? I carry my scoop in my left hand on the beach and my Cutlass II beeps on it at the left side of my swing. The only other thing I could think of is if the rod isn't clamped down tight.

There's no problem with your machine Art. When supertuned it is very sensitive and it most vulnerable to iron at the end of every swing. The stop and start is where it senses the iron. From time to time I run mine supertuned at max boost. It spits and sputters and yes, beeps at the end of most every swing. Back off sens. to 6 and it should be more stable.

Art, backing off from 8 to 6 shouldn't hurt your depth enough to notice except on very small items. The only time I have noticed an item disappearing is when I am running supertuned on maxboost. I've had button sized items disappear when I backed off to 10. When supertuned with sens. 10 I can still find the item with sens. 6 99% of the time. Supertuning is hard in trashy areas. I mostly use it when I get outside the iron patch.

Yes backing off the sens a might will help a lot and might only lose half an inch in depth to small targets. You may as well run in all metal.

I like it when it's wound as tight as it will go. But, sometimes you have to back off. Try open fields outside the iron patch and crank it up as far as it will go. You'll be suprised what people lost when they got away from the house.
