My brother did two tours in VN serving as a radio officer (Lt. Navy) on Mekong River boats. The stories he would sometimes tell contrast drastically to the scene pictured above. I pray that all who served there have now softened their original image and are getting along with their lives.

Don...I just saw some pics of old bomb craters in laos, the local farmers turned the craters in the rice paddies into fish ponds. Saw some pics of homes resting on supports made from the hollow cluster bomb shells !! I'm amazed at the ingenuity of these rural farmers....they have been able to adapt the remains of war into useful objects for there daily life.
