Feeding the flock

We have a wild turkey hen that hangs around the yard. Usually she runs back into the woods when she sees us. But the other day she stayed in the yard watching me as I took care of the chickens. This is her:

So when I filled up the bird feeders yesterday, I scattered a few handfuls of sunflower seeds around on the ground, figuring she would come back later and get some.

Well, she did. And she brought friends. A lot of friends!

Nice pic... We had a group of 5 big tom turkeys who came into yard 1-3 times p/day for about 2 months. They were getting the corn I put out. They used to run for the woods every time I walked out to go to woodshop. After awhile they all just watched me and froze. Later they didn't even watch me and kept eating. They are fun to watch.

Great bug/weed seed eliminator.

Often in the late fall I'll see one flock on a permission that can be 100-150 in the field. (Depending on crop rotation)

It seems my flock have flocked off for some reason.

Are you using a VPN? Those throw off YouTube (and other places as well) and can cause that message. Try temporarily turning off the VPN and see if it plays.

I’m guessing your Turkey hen is an “influencer”. Maybe the senior hen. She’s checked you out and decided you’re okay.👌 You might have them all winter. That would be so cool!

I don’t know if I’m using it but assume so. My wife is the techy that set my phone up. I’m not going to go into settings. I’m just the dummy that types and hits “send”. I’m lucky I learned how to attach a pic.🤣😝

That's me also... NOT techy at all here. And I mean that 100%.

TRUE STORY: When I/we applied for our GM assembly line patent (2003) I got a call one day from one of tech attorneys in AL. Would I please come down to review so we can get this filed? So I drive for 2.5 hours and arrive. Up on a dry eraser board is math from "way out there". He asks me to review those equations and see if there right...? How in the hell would I know...? He says you didn't arrive at the one you gave us without going through all this... right? I said I sure did..! How did you know it would work (and it does) without this background math. Hell I don't know... I thought it up on the way to work one morning....! He just couldn't get over it nor understood how I arrived at it. Me either...? I guess I kept it simple and took some shortcuts....? We got our patent.
