Welcome to the forum! :hello: As far as which machine you really can't go wrong with any of them. But I think the Gold Bug 2 is awesome.

Welcome to TNet! Good luck on your hunts. I have never used any Fisher machines, so I cannot offer an opinion, sorry.

The first rock you posted looks as if it contains quartz. A great sign when looking for gold! You can't go wrong with the At-Gold! Great machine.

The second rock is hard for me to see detail. But it looks like it is possibly volcanic?

Welcome aboard from the great state of Pennsylvania!

You didn't mention your state - but you might consider jumping over to Sub-Forums: Select Your Area.... and selecting your state for information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state.
