Long story short I hit a mini collection. Here are results

Almost every year clad proof from 2002-2013. 8 total
4 silver including 64 and Ben
And these two coins. Very common 1986 and this beauty 2008 S eagle. image.webp

Enjoy!

Nice finds. I've never seen anyone post about finding one of those '08 bald eagle commems before. And they both look like they're in great condition too. I doubt they've been in circulation too long, which is better for u. :)

Nice job finding the bald eagle proof commemorative half dollar, I found the uncirculated "S" version of it 2 years ago and it's one of my most favorite coins that I own :)

That eagle is a pretty sweet design, I might actually keep it myself if I found one. I normally sell off my other comms...

Some great finds! But it's sad to think of what must have driven someone to the point of cashing in those beauties...

The 2008 S Eagle is a super cool find! Thanks for showing us Rusty! HH, Maverick.

Wow I've never seen or even heard of the eagle commem! It's a beautiful coin and an EXCELLENT find, congrats!

According to red book says 220,577 minted. Has to be my favorite non silver find. This one is going into my personal collection.

These odd and unusual finds keep this hobby great.

I bought a couple of the unc and proof bald eagle silver dollar commem coins from the mint back in '08. I think those and the unc and proof '09 Lincoln commem silver dollars are the only silver dollar commems I ever bought directly from the mint.

You are correct. Here are the final mintage numbers for both the proof and uncirculated versions:
Proof: 220,577
Uncirculated: 120,180
Welcome to the bald eagle commemorative club ;) j/k that really isn't a club, but besides my bald eagle commemorative, you're the only other one I've seen find one.

Jealous, nice finds. Love the eagle!

Friends, I have a novice question. Do all commemorative coins, like ones I just found, come in some kind of case or air tight seal package? Or can you buy directly from mint loose.....

The proof come in plastic capsules and the unc ones come in air sealed tight plastic pkgs....or that's they way they used to sell them anyway.....plus u should get a box with them too....that's how the commem silver dollars are sold

Actually I just found both my unc and proof 08 silver dollar bald eagle commems and they both came in sealed hard plastic capsules with boxes.....but Im not sure about the half dollars. And the proof silver dollar commems come in a plush velvet type box too which is kinda nice.

One last pic of the proof silver dollar commem velvet box with the seal on the front.

They all come encapsulated from the mint.

Nice! I really want to find a commemorative, specifically: The Challenger.
