Went out today with a little luck. Not much, but I'll show it off because I'm board, it's already dark and I have nothing better to do!

I went out today and found a bunch of rocks. No really just rocks is all I found but I did catch a couple of spotted bass so it wasnt a total loss. I like the first pic it looks like you got some that has work on them.

Sometimes you get home..clean your finds and they are even better than you thought...sometimes not..that's the way it goes. I actually like seeing the whole bunch great or not..its the real thing. I'm going tomorrow for the first time in a couple weeks...work work work.

Spotted bass plus rocks= rock bass!! Not a bad day at all. Fish and rocks is paradise to me

The second one top left is really a right nice piece. I should have taken a close up of it. It's been reworked some.

Please take a closer pic.

Here are closer pics of that piece and a couple more I found.

The last piece has large reduction flakes that don't show up on camera. I think it is part of an adze or hand chopper. Pics do it no good. The other is a mortar or pestle one. Once again, not the highest quality piece. Pics do it no good. Still thought I'd share since I washed them. Now to the flower bed they go!

You got a few worked pieces there for sure. I like the duckbill scraper looking one.

I find alot of pieces with several reduction flakes that are just debris from reducing a stone to the best part to use for a tool. I'm not sure if that's what that piece is...that's just what I would call it if I found it.

You talking about the orange color one? If you notice, it has only large reduction flakes! Such a hard quartz I suppose they found one in nature as close to what they needed and minimized work. I had to hold it toward the sun to see the work

I meant the first one in the second group of photos.as far as the one with the large reduction flakes... I was just saying I have alot of pieces that have several angles on them. "reduction flakes" that were never tools.
It takes several strikes with a hammerstone to reduce somthing to even a blank or preform so somtimes the pieces that come off have angles from previous strikes. Its usualy not until you see some secondary work that it was actually made into a tool in my opinion.

@ NC, What is that neat looking rock in the 5th pic? Looks green from here but might not be. Is it Pet Wood? I got some pine Pet Wood.
