nice finds jeff silver is nice-- i want to get out but just dont have the time --maybe in a couple o weeks i will get caught up

judging from size, i'd say a wood tick or deer ked. Ked would have 6 legs and you'd feel them bite. Tick would have 8 and due to their paralytic mucous, you would not feel them sink in.
what are the odds on the same day we were talking about them :o

Nice the face button and silvers....congrats!
H

Although the one side looks like 4
I'm going to say 6 Legs It's very tiny, & Flat.
Maybe 1/8" long

I Definately felt it Bite, otherwise I Never would have
seen where to look.

IF I'v had them on me Before, Or get one
one me in the future & too Busy
to feel the Bite . My Guess he could
make a Perminant residence on Me
LOL. especially on my Back.

Thanks all !

Going to try & Mow grass tomorrow Tex.

but let me know what days you have

Hey Buddy.

Remember the Landowner
saying he'd Like to Have the ring ?

If your Planning on hedding over that way
at some point, you can drop it off for him.

hopefully he'll Spread it around
to his Family & Friends :laughing7:

let me know :thumbsup:

Jeff

Jeff, that is entirely up to you. I will be over that way on the weekend and I'm sure he'd be ecstatic about it, but the impression I got from him was that he wasn't expecting it. I'm going to clean up a few of the wheats and give to him as well. He has a lot of friends in the area and maybe that will help us secure more spots

Nice Silver and Bust button
Nasty biting critter :P

Yea I'm sure He'll get more Conversation out of it
then I will :laughing7:

that ring may be from a religious background. at some time it was illegal for priests or maybe friars to have gold, so the parents would hide the gold in a brass ring. wealthy parents would also supplement income as well.

I Thought of that when I Pulled it out
& it was Very Green.
Thought maybe Paint.

Was found in Front of a Former Church

See That Spot of Gold on the Front ?

Picture 007.webp

Electrolysis Didn't Remove it,
But did Clean the Seam.

Hard to tell from the Pics
But trust me
it is Gold inside the Seem Too

Picture 004.webpPicture 008.webp

& Does look plated.

Odd they would use Brass though

Good variety, not counting that ______ parasite.

Over the last few years Ive seen several of these brass "18K" plated rings turn up, and even dug one myself.. seems like a sort of counterfeit in the earlier half of the 1900's

wow - nice finds...glad you got that pest early... my dream to dig a merc...silver is the best... :) :notworthy:
