I've had my Equinox 800 for a couple of week now and starting to figure out. I am really seeing the difference now. Hunted last three days for a couple hours and have found 22 buttons, a few musket balls, an intact hoe head and several other items including, today a 1785 half real in a place that has been thoroughly hunted.

A few interesting buttons, one pewter one that is brittle but has a spider web pattern, the gold concave with a flow in the center and several lead 4 hole buttons

The most intact hoe head I have found yet with what appears to be some type of chisel in the same hole, deep, over 2' down and it almost whipped me.

And I finally ended my coin drought with a terrific 1785 Spanish silver 1/2 real Carlous III, my 7th Spanish silver of the year.

Excellent finds. You’re on a good spot, even if it’s been hunted. I also appreciate that you spelled “real” correctly!

That half reale is freakin nice yep the nox is an awesome machine I only got to use mine 4 to 5 times rrrrrhhhh next year Im hoping to be able to get out more. Glad to see your doing so well with it Happy New Years

Okay - not to take away from the new Equinox, but today mbcuce gave it to me to use, while he went back to his old Garrett 400. I searched all morning for seven flat buttons, a thimble and various unknown bits. When I came out from the area, where the real was found, mbcuce had found 10 buttons, an 18th century toy cannon, and part of a sword handle. So, he beats me no matter what machines we use. I'm due for something big!

Very nice! Congrats!

Plus most of it with any machine is being in a good spot and getting your coil over a good target

Too much ENVY, to reply...! :laughing7:

Good hunt buddy. I’ve been watching my brother use his enough I could do use it. They make it so simple, compared to older models. My F75+ does great on relics, and coins as well, and we both have fun having competitions

Awesome finds!! I may have to switch from the XP Deus and add the Equinox to the arsenal...😁😁 Congrats!!

What exactly are you “figuring out” with the EQX Bruce? Is it the speed? Are the tones easier to interpret in a certain Tone Profile? What’s making the difference in your opinion?

Its learning the tones really. I watched some videos on settings and got it where I wanted and then it just took a couple of trips in the field to figure out what set it off and when to dig. I still haven't played around with tweaking the settings but have figured out how to at least reduce my ratio of junk to artifacts. I feel I am getting additional depth for sure, particularly in the wooded areas with thick pine straw. We did head to head and the Garrett 400 wouldn't even register a signal at all where the Equinox rang one. The location I dug the half real had been gone over a hundred times with the Garretts and my first pass over it with the Equinox was a strong 25 signal.

Wow excellent finds. I am starting to think about getting another detector to redo my spots as I know there is still stuff there! Looks like you cleaned that spot up quite nicely!

Fine hunt, congrats! :icon_thumleft:
