Got back to the cellar hole this morning where I had previously found the early 1800's flat button and Jew's harp. I finally found my first large cent right at the edge of the cellar hole amongst some fallen rocks. It's holed and it's pretty toasty but at least it's identifiable. IMG_1134.webp Dated 1828 it's also my oldest coin to date. The only other find was another London flat button. IMG_1133.webp

Still waiting on my first... would love to find one like that. Cool you can read the date.

Thanks Ace. Yeah I was pretty excited when I saw the size of it, I figured it was a LC but couldn't confirm until I did a little light cleaning.

WTG! Love those LC's!

Nice save! A holed large cent is a treasured find indeed.

Thanks for the kind words from a fellow M6 user Terpfan. The hole does kind of add a personal touch to it.

Tnanks for all of the positive feed back to everyone. It was nice to check a find off of my "would like to find" list.

Congrats on the first... :icon_thumright:

Congrats on your first of many LC's

Sweet find, I don't expect to ever find one of those in my neck of the woods!

Way to go! The first is usually the hardest to find.

Me too! Can't miss one these monsters if it's anywhere near your coil so I'm sure I haven't missed one, but haven't found one either.
