Got back to the cellar hole this morning where I had previously found the early 1800's flat button and Jew's harp. I finally found my first large cent right at the edge of the cellar hole amongst some fallen rocks. It's holed and it's pretty toasty but at least it's identifiable.
Dated 1828 it's also my oldest coin to date. The only other find was another London flat button.
