Finally a New Spot That Holds Some Promise

Hello T-Net Nation! I've been working hard this summer trying to find new spots that haven't been hunted to death. My track record for the year has been pretty poor ( 1/23). Today I lucked into an old farm that actually holds some promise. Three hours of detecting netted a handful of good finds:

Recovered items span a couple of hundred years. A broken shoe buckle, a knee buckle, and a couple of flat buttons were the oldest...I'm guessing late 1700's:



Everything else seems to date to the 1800's or early 1900's The best ( and only) coins for the day were a 1829 LC and an 1884 Liberty nickel. Sadly, it appears that Lady Liberty was the victim of some target practice...

All in all it was a very enjoyable outing. I'll keep you posted if there are more noteworthy finds. Thanks for taking a look.

Is that knee buckle the anchor style? If so, it could be 1660-1720, at least per this chart. Very cool find no matter how old.

Nice finds! You gotta love those old farms and hunt them slow for some of the best targets will be a little deeper!
