Finally a proper silver coin.

A friend of mine wanted to see what kind of hobby metal detecting is. We went for a short hunt. Found a button, old bits and pieces. Then this tiny silver came up.

5 КОПѢЕКЪ 1844. Not bad condition. All detail is there, as expected with a silver coin.

I updated the pics to some better ones. Click twice to enlarge. Gets quite close.

A little comparison. They both have the same face value.

Amazing detail. Would never guess it to be that old.

And your friend? I would think that would have him out buying his first detector!

Great find!

That's very nice! Could be anywhere between a $5 and $25 coin.
