Finally Broke Into the 1800's......and with a BANG!

So I finally did it! I broke into the 1800's and in a big way! With this 1853-o Seated Half Dime!! I've been knocking on doors and I finally got to hunt a couple of the oldest yards in town, near Lovers Point here in Pacific Grove. I didn't get a single coin all day....I got a zinc sound on my EX2 and I decided to dig it and out she pops!!! I'll take her as my only coin anyday....I'm leaving her dirty because I think she looks good that way!! Thanks for looking and HH - Rob

That Half-Dime has great detail...Knocking on Doors pays off, sometimes you just never know. Congrats on the Superb Coin. HH

 I've got half dime on my goal list and have never dug one in 25 years. I was interested to see you say it gave a zinc sound. I normally dig deep zinc readings with my CZ5 'cause they end up being Indian Heads. I'm in OH and detect all over, there should be more half dimes in my area than out west. Congrats on your find, she's a beaut!

That's a great half-dime, splendid!

If you're going to 'keep it forever', you might try the baking soda and water gentle cleaning routine.
It'd look that much better silver-y.

Why does the PCGS site list only the 'no arrows' type for 1853 and 1853-O?
