I know this is not a find but i just wanted to show you guys my brand new metal detector! Minelab explorer SE! I went down around 7:00pm to go pick this up in seattle. Got my Minelab explorer SE for $1315 brand new from a perfessional metal detectorist!

His website is http://www.goldpanprospectors.com

He does gold panning and metal detecting for a living. He is a really great guy as well! Thanks for the metal detector dude! If you are reading this! :) It took me a month to save up for this! I spent all the money, I had got working on this machine! Money is well spent!

Here are some pictures of me with my Minelab Explorer SE metal detector once I got it home!

AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! Now thats true love!!!!!!!! Good luck with your new baby and learn her well!!!!

Congrats!!!

I also just purchased a new SE. I am going from a Soverign to an Explorer and I am needing some adjustment time.

I wish you luck. Don't give up on it as some have. It may be tough to learn but it is well worth your effort. Read read read as much as you can about this machine. Get your hours in behind it, even if you have to hit a local park everyday. I plan on spending at least 10+ hours a week behind mine at least for a few months. That kind of time will enable you to understand what she is telling you. Hit the park and dig pulltabs and junk, lots of it. When you are felling like you will never get it come to one of the treasure forums and look at the great finds. You will be making them in no time.

OK, enough of my story. Go knock'em dead. :toothy1:

No more excuses, get out there and get the goodies! I have a 10 year old Explorer and still love it!
Happy Hunting

Just bought mine too! I was shocked to see my dealer selling Explorer SE Pro's a week after I bought mine :'(

Coming from Sovereign and the SE is a whole different concept. Through the help of several fellow TNET'rs here, and watching lots of videos on the minelab owners forums and logging lots of hours, I am just starting to get the picture. Congratulations on your big purchase, best of luck with it.

Congrats on your purchase. Remember to go real with the SE. Good luck and keep us posted.

Your really gonna love that machine so make it your best friend too and she will not let you down. Yes it is heave but who cares, I don't, it has one job to do and she does it very well.

congrats and have fun. I contemplated for almost a year. I started out cheap and will move up after I graduate from metal detecting :icon_sunny:

Congrats on that fine new machine.
Those old coins and relics are at your mercy now.
Enjoy, and best luck on your hunts.l

Are you aware that when you get excited BRIGHT LIGHT EMITS FROM YOUR HEAD! (see pic.) Nice choice, now pick up one of those excelerator coils and prepare to dig to China. Thats what I'd do if the wifey would let me blow/invest (depends on whos talking) $1500.

Good luck with your machine....I can tell you can't wait to use it.

What did you find in your home? ;D

Hello DF!
Welcome to the SE Club!
It's a great machine but shuck those Koss headphones.
Killer Bees and Gray Ghosts are the way to go!

My advice; be patient and study everything you can about the SE. Begin learning with an 8 inch coil as the sounds may be overwhelming.
Deep targets will often sound broken much like rusty nails. Yes, you will dig a few of them; no way to avoid it if you like silver. :)
