About time
My son and I along with our other hunting buddy got out this Saturday to the old army base. Now that we were able to hit a "small" area inside the base which must have been a playground area, we finally scored. Just some totals for the day was our buddy had 12 wheats, 2 mercs (44-S and ?), 1 Washington (63) and 1 Rosie! (64)
I was able to pull 14 wheats, 2 mercs (43-s & 44-S), 1 buffalo (37) and an Ausie 1941 "Florin"? Kinda odd but hey, I'll take it!! Blew out my ears on the Deus! One merc had been wrapped in tinfoil? Kinda odd and it was a bit rough. Rinsed it in a silver cleaner for about a minute and she came out looking nice!!
Of course my son kicked but with the 1940-S Walker and 2 Washington's (43-D & 62-D) as well as a 29 merc. It was kinda funny cause the son found the Washington's walking behind our buddy who was using his E-trac. The son I think is very happy with his Deus and found the 43-D Washington a good 8 inches deep!!
We all found lots of marbles and old toy cars and airplanes in this sandy area. A couple cool religious charms both stamped sterling and we all had a pocket of clad and pennies. This was only a 6 hour hunt and plan on getting back this weekend! Lots and lots of area to hit so as long as the weather holds, its looking good. Thanks for looking and be safe!!!!!
