Since we moved last month I have been patiently waiting for my first boxes of halves to come in from the only bank I have found so far willing to order them. Finally got the call last Thursday they were in. The results were a big disappointment....two boxes barren of silver :(. Hope this is not a sign of things to come. Several coins were marked with a small "L" in the lower left of the obverse, so looks like I could have been searching someones dumps (anybody want to claim the marking?). Did manage to find a couple clad proofs in decent shape, so I will add those to the collection. Hoping for better results on the next ones.

Sorry to hear about the bad luck. I hate it when I see marked halves like that because then I know I've got someone else's dump. I've got a NIFC half I found some time ago that someone marked with a magic marker right in JFK's ear. It's really not worth keeping because of that but I still kept it anyway.

I've got my first box of garda halves coming in next week and I'm hoping I'll have better luck myself. I'm hoping to start ordering halves from this bank on a regular basis and dump @ another bank that hopefully uses another supplier. But if I'm not having much luck at it I'm not sure how long my perseverance will last.

If you are searching machine wrapped rolls, such as boxes, keep searching even if you find lots of marked coin. Often they are all mixed together in a big sorter so don't be discouraged. Now, when you are searching CWR and short on cash and the bank tells you they have several thousand wrapped coins all in the same wrapper and all are marked coins (don't be confused with marked wrappers, people re-use old wrappers or mislabel them, the one saying 1976-D bicentennials might just have all walking liberties) you might have stumbled upon someone's dump.
