Finally! It warmed up to -14! Better then the -20's as has been the case for most of February this year. Made some jerky a couple of days ago. Nothing like a beer, a carrot and some good old home made beef jerky to fill up the gut!

Got a couple of dollars in clad and a bottle opener. Pick'ns are pretty slow. It's been too cold even for kids to go out and play on those snow hills. I was using the AT MAX today. I put in about 4 hours........ Going to sleep real good tonite!

Congrats on the finds John! The Jerky looks good.

John, you know, I think you and I have at least three things in common, Eat, Sleep and Metal Detect. But -14? You are one hard core detector guy. Don't think I could hang with you on that one.

I don't think I could hang with him on a 70 degree day. He vacuums everything up.

Now that it has sunk in, impressive AT Max electronics performance at that temp. Is it rated to operate that low? (-14 F)

P.S. Did a quick search and found the Garret Pro Pointer has a -35F spec. but couldn't find anything for the AT series detectors. Older Tnet posts show the AT Pro can operate down there (-14F), too. Of course the batteries drain faster, but wow, that's pretty good. Something about knowing I will succumb to hypothermia before the detector does. Lol.
