That’s a BEAUTY! Congratulations!

I don’t feel like I see many peace dollars posted here :occasion14:

WOW Congrats, hopefully i will be there some day also.

Congrats! My first silver dollar was also a Peace Dollar, same year and S mint. I can still remember exactly where I found it, and how excited and flabbergasted I was at finding it. My second SD was a Morgan found at an old railroad station stop, and she's worn almost smooth. Nothing like a BIG hunk of silver!

GREAT recovery!!
That's the same year of the ONLY silver dollar I've ever found.

Nicely done :notworthy:

CoinHunterAZ, thanks and congrats to you on an S mint. I told the property owners just an hour before that finding old coins in a suburban yard is rare b/c people didn't have as much money back then - and they weren't in the habit of losing it. Then wham out comes this SD. Guess I should've said that 19 years ago!

watercolor, thanks. It was a great feeling - but then I ran it to the car asap - just to make sure I didn't loose it.

ArfieBoy, thank you. Glad you're already in the club. You right it has seen a lot of circulation - but there is nothing like silver coming out of the ground. The property owner's 12 y.o. son was using my spare metal detector and I told him that is one way you can distinguish a 1964 or before from clad. A little later on he found a silverplated spoon - so we both had a good day.
