Finally my first silver

Jrharvey91 · Mar 26, 2016

well into my fourth month hunting I finally got some silver. Glad to be assured there is still some around my town.

Congratulations! A quarter is a nice way to start.

Nice one!

Jrharvey91 · Mar 26, 2016

As soon as I spotted it in the plug I knew I had some silver clad coins turn a redish orange color in the soil around here does that happen to you guys as well?

Scrappy · Mar 26, 2016

Congrats on your first silver coin. May you find many more.

Thanks everyone. mind me asking where you have found the most silver?

SeekSilver · Mar 26, 2016

Way to go! Finding Silver is always a rush. I found 3 yesterday in one empty city lot in Winter Garden Fl.

Nice finds plucked mine out of a curb strip today

ScubaDetector · Mar 27, 2016

A curb strip is a great place to find it. Same with older houses when you ask permission and maybe parks in remote areas. How about trying woods near you? You can also go to your local library and see if they have a section on your home town. Look for places people might have congregated and are not obvious now.

Yes silver out of the ground mostly looks like a new coin never in the ground. Nice find

Congrats! It took me about just as long to find my first, it's always a rush. As far as clad around me if it has been in the ground for any real period of time it's discolored for sure.

Congrats on your first silver. :occasion14:

Now that you broke the ice they should come more frequently. Site selection is key.

Congrats on your first! On to the next

whitey9977 · Mar 27, 2016

congrats on the first silver! These guys are right location location location! Older houses usually produce the best and every once in a while you get surprised out of the blue in some spot you never would have thought! I went all last year only finding three silvers and already this year have found three a couple weeks into the season.
