In the field right now as I type this...gotta love the iPhone! After 3 weeks of searching I think I finally found a site. This piece of land is huge and is loaded with potential. Turns out I was venturing too far from my parking spot and missing the site. A couple complete shoe buckle frames, some shoe buckle fragments, a couple Geo. II coppers and a few buttons. Only problem is my detector just died...not a clue what the problem is. Giving it a rest, then I'll change the batteries and hope for the best.

...and now it just started raining...I can't catch a break!

Nice - keep us posted!!! I always charge my batteries the night before a hunt, Not once in the last 10 -15 years have I had a battery problem.

Good Luck!!!!

Hey Romeo-1 , Nice site ! What are those buckle frames made of ?

I think your detector overloaded from great finds. Awesome!
Good luck,

I hate finding new silver at an old site...but at least the detector is back on track.

Now that you got the site, you will be no doubt posting up the good stuff!
Great start, you should have the old silver before too long!

Congrats! Silver is always beautiful ! We have to put a name to that "hopping out of the car and rushing past goodies only to find them on the return to the car", thing. "Fast pass". Maybe?

Well my day is done...detector just snapped in half! It was a good site too..,a couple more Geo. II coppers, handful of buttons, couple musket balls and some nit nats...all old targets.

One of those George II looks like a George III. Nice finds.

Now that's HARD detecting!

I wear out batteries pretty good but wearing out detectors, now that's another thing!

A couple of carriage bolts and some duct tape you'll be good as new lol

I hope you're not out for long, you just got things rolling

Dang boy, you really do get excited when you find a new site!

Just a shot of everything together...now to find a new upper shaft...

THAT IS NOT FUNNY !

Not something you see...ever ? " detector just snapped in half"

Nice buckle frames for sure.
I wouldn't complain about any type of silver, as long as the oldies were there, which they are.

Happened to me with a GTI.

The Indians prayed to the creator and put a metal detecter curse on it

Happened to me with a GTI too!
The S handle got weak and snapped where the factory holes were drilled through
Cheap aluminum could be replaced with a higher grade or carbon fibre

I respect Indians in every way by the way

Nice finds. What a bummer on your detector..once I broke my cuff on my garratt, but they sent me one free in mail.easy fix. I had to use my bounty hunter while waitingfor part.
