In the field right now as I type this...gotta love the iPhone! After 3 weeks of searching I think I finally found a site. This piece of land is huge and is loaded with potential. Turns out I was venturing too far from my parking spot and missing the site. A couple complete shoe buckle frames, some shoe buckle fragments, a couple Geo. II coppers and a few buttons. Only problem is my detector just died...not a clue what the problem is. Giving it a rest, then I'll change the batteries and hope for the best.

Happened to me with a GTI too!
The S handle got weak and snapped where the factory holes were drilled through
Cheap aluminum could be replaced with a higher grade or carbon fibre

WOW ! so you guys are 3 for 3. I occasionally feel like wrapping mine around a tree, but never dreamed it would just break. That's pretty bad luck, The metal probably stressed at the bend. Should be able to make a "splint" out of something.

I use a few odds and ends, epoxy and a LOT of duct tape!
I got it back together but it was never the same again, there was always a flexy twist at the place where it broke

I'll jury rig something...I think it must have frayed some of the wiring too...detector ain't detecting! I can hold it right on my shovel and it barely registers it.

Maybe that's it, it's not a poorly designed slipping shaft at all, your explorer housing has an emergency upper shaft ejection system.

Yeah that too, we sacrifice light weight and comfort for sturdy and well built products these days, we are the constituents of a throw away society , use it up and get another.....aweful

That really sucks...looks like an easy fix....could be some old silver floating around that site...hope your on the go real soon...

Well my day is done...detector just snapped in half! It was a good site too..,a couple more Geo. II coppers, handful of buttons, couple musket balls and some nit nats...all old targets.

What detector do you use? I be athinking I don't want one that will do that to me when I'm hot!

Nice live shot. You're definitely onto something good so keep at it. What's the item in the upper left that looks like an odd-shaped spoon bowl?

Man you are on the sweet spot for sure. Great buckles.
You got to get the F-75 fixed up and get to work on that site.

Not sure what that is...it's decorative but broken...

F75...it's 7 years old though and has detected in some pretty severe conditions...worth saving!

I love those buckles..coppers too...looks like a great site...Now fix that detector up and get back out there...can't wait to see what's still hiding in the dirt.

But Romeo......you in the Sh#t now!!!!.................HH
