So today I detected at an place where I’ve detected before that I’ve found a lot of older stuff on. The place is nearly 3000 years old and I rarely get to detect here. So this time I detected for three hours and I remembered that last time I was here I had an signal I couldn’t find besides a 2000 year old house foundation. I found parts of a vessel in that hole but not my signal. So I’ve come back to this place 4 months later in hope of finding more parts of the old vessel. And sadly, I didn’t find any more parts of that vessel, instead I found the signal:

A thin Viking period Bronze Ring! I’ve always wanted to find something like this, I have found some tools from the Viking period but not any jewelry or better finds. This is what I’ve always hoped of finding on this permission.

Other finds from the hunt:

Plus three medieval Horseshoe Nails:

amazing finds just to think how old they are and digging up an old civilazation great display case finds thanks for posting em for us

Excellent work pulling that non-ferrous. And it’s always nice to see someone who keeps and appreciates the old iron too. I know it’s asking a lot, but would you consider posting a few more pictures of that ring in better light? That appears to be one outstanding find!

Very cool Viking ring.
Congrats

Of course I will do it tomorrow when I have better lights

Congrats on the finding the ring, an amazing piece of recovered history.
I'll also be checking back for the updated photos.

That's incredible cool. If that ring could talk, the stories it could tell...

Big congrats!

That's not a Viking style of ring I'm familiar with. Being as basic as it looks, what date do you think it is? (& how do you date it?)

I’ve found it in Sweden and checked Swedish museum archives for similar rings and found very similar looking rings that date from 700 A.D to about 1100 A.D
Do you think it is older or earlier?

Congrats on some great relics.

Thanks for the additional pics. Very basic - I’m my mind I envisioned the outside was engraved. So maybe it’s older, which would be amazing!

It is much older! Judging by the foundations I found the ring besides it’s probably around 200 B.C to 500 A.D
