I didn't hit any hot spots this weekend for sure! Friday I drove all over looking for an old farm to hunt, I bet I stopped at 18 farms and knocked and couldn't find anyone at home....man that is so aggrivating! Finally I found someone at at home, it was a small farm, small yard. Nothing real old....got 9 wheats and a worn merc dime, and the excelsior button.
saturday I drove south to meet DiggerDan to hunt his area. We went to a real promising 1880's brick farm house, we couldn't believe the lack of signals. I ended up with 2 wheats and the 1875 indian. We hit another place....nothing, did a whole block of sidewalk tearouts and walked away with one wheat and the good for 5 cent token at the bar. I consider that my best find of the weekend.
We then hit a field where an old house was, I got the copper ring, and 1890 indian, we got rained out......did a ton of hunting, lots of hours with not a whole lot to show.
Any ideas what the Erie RR thing is? It is made of lead.
