First 2015 Hunt....

Not much to it,had limited time & tried to kill three birds with one stone.Got off to a late start & tried to do some oyster tonging with a side of arrow head looking mixed with a little Mding.Not enough time for it all with such a late decide to go.Anyway found a point,a ramrod guide,couple scrapers,shot,& a piece of tin that weighs exactly 1oz so they likely used it for something (weight,glazing,plating ) & the little porcelain piece make three now.Anyway the boat needs running & the afternoon turned pretty for some sunset shot's.

Better then my last couple hunts plus a lot better scenery. Did some metal detecting a couple evenings around a old home place. Did find 5 plow blades and a worn wheat penny. No points. But going to hit a new cutover the weekend. Hope to find some points plus has two old home sites with an old road bed through it.

Thanks dirtlooter,Yea I feel like these type are pretty early.The site they came from gives up some early things,I've found another one kinda like it on it.Thumb plates & quite a few of the old strip mold produced type shot.Most stuff from this site seems late 1600's mid 1700's.There is one like it on the U.K. site.But it's a little more fancy in style with the ribs.I've also tried to find a match as I believe it & they all are pistol related.Found one close to them British Royal Navy Long Sea Service Flintlock Pistol, c.1760-1770 would be right for site age I'd say but they don't seem to have the thumb plates.But the thumb plates seem fancy,so may not be from the same gun as a a lot of things seems to have went on during this period on this site.

Yea the wife got into the facebook thing about a year ago now I guess! It's growed on me now at least on there you can be your own dog. You got into the FB yourself yet?
